Camping
Gear
by: John Edward
Camping vacations can be fun and exciting when you bring the
neccessary equipment and supplies along with you. Whether
its your first camping experience or one of many, its a good idea
to plan ahead and prepare a checklist.

Camping gear
are items that are non-perishable equipment such as
tents, sleeping
bags, blankets, air matresses, lanterns, flashlites,
cooking stoves, cooking utensils, coolers or ice chests plus tools
such as a camping knife, a camping axe and a small folding camp
shovel. The camping axe can be used for pounding tent stakes into the
ground and for cutting small tree branches to make a campfire. Some
campers like to use a campers saw for cutting tree branches. Other
gear items might include fishing rod and tackle, if you going to be
fishing nearby.
Camping supplies are things like food, firewood, fuel for camp
stoves, personal hygine products, and clothing. When it comes to
camping supplies, like clothing and food many individuals
automatically know what they need to bring. If in doubt just make a
short list of what you normally use at home and bring these items
along, plus a first aid kit.
Camping equipment that you may want to bring with
you on your next
camping adventure are outlined below.
The most important camping gear item is your
tent and depending on
who you are going camping with, you may even need to bring multiple
camping tents with you. If you have yet to purchase a camping tent,
you will want to make sure that you purchase a tent or tents that
are not only the right size, but also strong, sturdy, dependable,
and waterproof. Stand alone Sreen rooms make good dining rooms where
you can eat under cover and provide good bug control.
A sleeping
bags, blankets, air matresses, lanterns, flashlites, is camping gear that you will want
to make sure that you bring along with you. If you are camping with
your family, you will want to make sure that you have enough sleeping
bags to go for eveyone. Although you may assume that a light
sleeping
bag is good in the summertime, you may still want to be prepared by
bringing along a heavier style sleeping bag. These types of
sleeping
bags are good where the temperature turns cold at night.
In addition to bringing a traditional sleeping bag with you, you may
also want to think about bringing along a foam sleeping pad or an
inflatable air mattress. If you will be camping in a traditional
tent, you may find it somewhat uncomfortable sleeping on the floor
of the tent which contacts the ground. While many campsites have level
ground, they are not soft enough for a good nights sleep.
The above mentioned camping gear items are just a few of the many
camping gear pieces that you may want to think about bringing along
with you on your next camping adventure. Remember to get the checklist
and at least review the basic things you might need to
bring along to ensure a pleasureable experience.
Many campgrounds have a camp store and possessing a Visa card will get
most anything one needs, except tents, sleeping bags and other large
camping gear items.
