Tent Camping

Tent camping is an enjoyable, affordable way to enjoy the
outdoors. The experience can be easily customized to meet
virtually any interest level, budget and family configuration.

Practice with your equipment in your back yard, or at a
campground that is close to your home. There is a learning
curve associated with camping gear. It can be frustrating to
arrive at camp, 100 miles from home, with rain falling, and
not know how to set up the tent.

Use the best equipment you can afford. The quality and
functionality of camping equipment has increased
dramatically during recent years. If you have and know
how to use good equipment there is no reason you should
be cold, wet or uncomfortable.

The magic of camping with children comes to those who
forget the destination and focus on the journey. Meander
with your children along a trail through a shady grove of
trees, noticing the birds, bugs, and berries. It will awaken
your own senses to the incredible beauty around you,
and help everyone discover nature.

Your youngsters will learn that the woods are alive as they
catch their first fish, see a deer, hike through a field of
breathtaking wildflowers, or listen to the night sounds of
frogs, crickets, owls, and coyotes.


Prepare them before heading out. Backyard camping is a
great way to teach your children how to set up their own
tents, use camp gear properly, and avoid accidents.

Setting up camp behind your house will allow them to
become familiar with sleeping in a tent, while sparking
an interest in the fun activities camping can offer.

 Bring plenty of snacks and games for the nighttime
activities. Spend time as a family to give them an
idea of what to expect for the real outing.

Setting up Your tent

When your new tent arrives at home, open the tent
shipping container, extract the instructions that comes
with the tent  and read them thoroughly. Set-up the
tent in your backyard or at a local park to familurize
yourself with the tent pole and stakes and the
procedure to follow to get it up successfully.
